A second 5-star hotel has just been opened by the Torre de Canyamel group on the northeast coast of Mallorca with clear panoramic views over the Mediterranean and located a mere 200 meters from one of its other luxury properties, Can Simoneta.

A boutique hotel for adults only, Hotel Pleta de Mar, which was completed a few weeks ago, comprises 26 suites, three luxury suites and a grand suite with private pool, all with open terraces. It also features a restaurant, Asador de Mar, with dining alfresco, serving a wide range of meat and fish dishes, two infinity pools, a private beach, kayaks for guest use and two public terraces, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a heated floor for colder weather comfort. The hotel’s spa offers sauna, an outdoor hot tub and a range of massages and beauty treatments.

Constructed on a former dairy farm (‘pleta’ means ‘place for keeping animals’), Hotel Pleta de Mar is located one hour’s drive from Palma and is nestled on gentle slopes among clusters of trees such as mata, palm and pine.

Suites, which combine the contemporary with rustic elements, feature two showers, one of them outdoor, a bathtubs and electronically-operated lights, curtains and blinds.

Aside from its own amenities, the hotel is close to the seaside village of Canyamel ten-minutes away where cafes and restaurants line the sandy shore, as well as Llevant nature reserve, with diverse species of birds swimming and flying playfully.

There are four golf courses within a 15-minute drive of the hotel. Other activities can be organized for guests including water and beach sports, yoga, hiking and mountain-biking, horse-riding and horse-drawn carriage rides.
